Sourcing Suppliers in China by yourself or a local assistant?

Language, culture, tradition, time zone, etc, differences could hinder communications with potential manufacturers/suppliers. 1. Nowadays, the factories falls into 2 parts, the ones focus on quality and the other ones focus on price. The ones focus on quality, they have many stable clients, they do not like customers to compare price here and there, they think these customers are not care about quality too much. they are doing business well with direct customers, and they have gain long-term business with customers year by year, unless their tech can not meet customers\'need. The one focus on price, they always try to attract customers by cheap price with low quality. and the customers always think there will be much cheaper suppliers, therefore it causes time loss for suppliers and sourcing agent.

2. Business practice-honesty, Chinese supplier value most the long term GUANXI(关系), money is not everything for many good suppliers, they are help their customers to gain the market, they are not doing one-time business with clients.

3. Chinese supplier likes specification sheet too much, if your target item is much detailed, they will co-relate your items very quickly. They are not answering the question \"price and MOQ\", they think these customers only wants to get the price comparison, they are not honest.

5. It depends on the service level of each company. Manufacturers focus on production and trading company focus on service. That\'s the problem here. Most of the manufacturer needs to improve their service level.
